I help operating companies turn management systems into AI-ready competitive advantage — built on 25 years leading operations, maintenance, and operational excellence across manufacturing and energy infrastructure.
Over the past 25+ years, I have built a career at the intersection of operations, technology, and enterprise management systems across manufacturing and energy infrastructure.
Unlike many leaders who develop within a single discipline, I have led production operations, maintenance organizations, environmental programs, safety organizations, and technology initiatives — a breadth that shaped a clear point of view: performance comes from the operating organization owning how work gets done.
Today, I lead environmental, safety, and health for a major midstream energy business, supporting pipeline, fractionation, terminal, marine, and transportation operations.
I am particularly passionate about the next evolution of operational excellence: integrating AI, automation, analytics, and management systems to create continuous improvement capabilities that scale across complex organizations.
Agentic AI is emerging as a powerful multiplier on operational performance — but the multiplier only works where operations are already run as a disciplined, documented system. This paper argues that the factor most determining which side of the widening competitive gap an organization lands on is whether it has a strong, documented, operationally-owned management system for the agents to run on, and provides a practical roadmap for implementation, education, and governance.
